Ordering & MOQ

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
FORGEMFG’s standard minimum order quantity is 50 pieces per style and colorway. One style in two colorways therefore has a standard minimum of 100 pieces in total. Confirm the size breakdown and any fabric, trim or finishing minimums for your specification before ordering. See MOQ and pricing.
Can I mix sizes or colors within the MOQ?
The standard 50-piece minimum applies to each style and colorway, not to a mix of different colors. Send your proposed size breakdown with your enquiry so the team can confirm the size mix and any size-specific requirements in the quotation. See MOQ and pricing.
How do I get an accurate quotation?
To request a quote, send a tech pack or reference photos, garment type, fabric composition and weight, wash or decoration details, quantity per style and colorway, size breakdown, destination postcode and required delivery date. We aim to provide an initial feasibility check and cost estimate within two business days of receiving the necessary details. Missing specifications may require follow-up before a final quote.
How do I place a bulk-production order?
Start with a quotation and sample development. Before confirming bulk production, agree the final specifications, approved sample, quantities, price, inspection requirements, delivery terms and payment schedule in writing. Confirm material readiness and the production slot with the team; sample approval alone does not establish a shipment date. See the shipping and lead-time guide.
Which costs are included in the quotation?
Your written quotation defines the included costs. Ask it to identify garment production, pattern or artwork development, sample revisions, labels, packaging, testing, inspection and freight, with any separate charges clearly shown. Duties and taxes depend on the agreed delivery term. Compare quotes on the same specification and delivery basis; see MOQ and pricing.
Should I register as a buyer or request a quote?
Use buyer registration to put your company on file and request relevant certificate copies, a sample QC report or an NDA. Request a quote when you have a garment, quantity and destination in mind and want pricing. Registration is a document-request route; the quotation records your order-specific terms.

Tech Packs & Design

What should my tech pack include?
Include garment sketches, the sample size, a measurement chart with units and tolerances, fabric composition and GSM (grams per square metre), wash references, artwork dimensions and placement, trims, labels and packaging. Add the size breakdown, quantity and destination. PDF, Adobe Illustrator (AI) and Excel files are accepted. Use tech-pack support if details still need development.
Does FORGEMFG work with brands that do not have a tech pack?
Yes. Send a sketch, reference photos or a reference garment for review. Our tech-pack support service helps turn your design into production specifications. Confirm the deliverables, pattern or artwork work, revision scope and any charges in your quotation before development begins.
Can FORGEMFG match a wash or color from a reference garment?
A physical reference helps the team develop lab dips and wash trials for approval before bulk production. The approved sample and agreed shade range define the production target; exact duplication should not be assumed, especially for washed or distressed finishes. Agree acceptable appearance variation and post-wash measurements before production. See the sampling process.
What is the difference between OEM and ODM?
OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer: you supply the design and the factory manufactures to the agreed specifications. ODM means Original Design Manufacturer: the factory also contributes design development. Confirm development scope, charges, ownership and exclusivity for your project. See OEM versus ODM for the two programs.
How do I specify custom labels and packaging?
Include your brand-label artwork, size and care-label requirements, label positions, folding instructions, bags and carton markings in the brief. The quotation should confirm what can be supplied, minimum quantities, setup charges and lead times. Agree destination-specific label information before production; see tech-pack support.

Sampling

How long does sampling take?
The first sample typically dispatches within 7–15 business days after tech-pack confirmation, depending on material availability and finishing complexity. Courier delivery, buyer review and additional revision rounds add time. Confirm the start date, material readiness and any payment requirements in your quotation. See the sampling process.
How much does a sample cost, and is the fee refundable?
Sample fees are quoted for each design and depend on materials, development and finishing complexity. FORGEMFG credits the sample fee toward your first bulk order under the terms of your quotation. This is a production credit, not a promise of a cash refund if you cancel. Confirm the eligible amount, order conditions, revision charges and courier costs before payment. See the sampling process.
How many sample revisions are included?
The number of included revisions is confirmed in the sample quotation. Before paying, agree the sample stages, included changes and charges for further rounds. Send one consolidated feedback list after reviewing each sample, and confirm any effect on cost and dispatch timing before the next round. See the sampling process.
Can you reproduce a previous order’s fit, fabric and wash?
Use the previous approved sample, tech-pack version, fabric details and finish references when requesting a repeat order. The team must confirm current material availability and the production specification. Agree any new approval sample and acceptable shade or measurement variation before ordering; a previous order does not guarantee an identical future fabric or wash batch. See the quality-control process.

Production, Shipping & Payment

How long does bulk production take after sample approval?
Bulk-production timing is confirmed in your quotation. The agreed start date depends on final sample and specification approval, material readiness, required payment and production-slot confirmation. Ask whether the estimate uses calendar or business days and identify inspection and shipping separately. Multi-style orders also need an agreed combined or split-shipment schedule. See the shipping and lead-time guide.
What shipping terms do you offer — FOB, EXW or DDP?
EXW, FOB and DDP arrangements are agreed at quotation, subject to the shipment and destination. FOB applies to sea or inland-waterway transport and requires a named shipment port. EXW is collection at an agreed place; DDP places import-clearance and applicable duty and tax responsibilities on the seller. Confirm DDP destination eligibility and discuss FCA for air or container-terminal handover. See the shipping and lead-time guide.
What are the payment terms?
The stated payment split is a 30% deposit and 70% balance. Your pro forma invoice must specify the balance-payment trigger: payment following pre-shipment inspection and payment against a bill-of-lading copy are different arrangements. Confirm the accepted payment method, currency, fees and dispatch or document-release conditions for your order. See the shipping and lead-time guide.
Does production lead time include shipping to my address?
No. Plan sample development, production, inspection and shipping as separate stages unless the quotation explicitly combines them. Request a route-specific estimate to your destination postcode, including collection, clearance and final delivery where applicable. A port-arrival date is not a warehouse-delivery date. See the shipping and lead-time guide.
How soon will I receive a reply or cost estimate?
We aim to acknowledge enquiries within 24 hours and provide an initial feasibility check and cost estimate within two business days of receiving the necessary details. These are different stages. Our team is based in Dongguan, China (GMT+8); confirm availability around weekends and public holidays for urgent requests. Send your project details.

Quality, Certifications & Compliance

What certifications and audit documents can buyers review?
Request current ISO 9001 quality-management certification, amfori BSCI social-audit information and applicable OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 documentation for review. Check the holder, production site, scope, validity and covered articles before relying on a document for your order. These cover different subjects and do not establish blanket US or EU import compliance. See the quality-control process.
Can you support testing and documentation for my destination market?
Include the destination, product category and requested tests or documents in your enquiry. Confirm availability, cost, responsibilities and timing in the quotation. Requirements depend on the product and market; factory audits or material certificates do not replace applicable finished-product requirements. Review the regional buyer guides and confirm the order’s requirements with your appointed specialists.
How is quality checked before shipment?
FORGEMFG’s stated process includes every-piece pre-shipment checks within an agreed scope, plus a separate AQL (Acceptance Quality Limit) lot assessment. The stated AQL levels are 2.5 for major defects and 4.0 for minor defects. The order specification defines attributes checked, sampling requirements and critical-defect treatment. AQL is not a guarantee of a shipment’s defect percentage. See the quality-control process.
Can I get copies of the certificates?
Request current documents through buyer registration. Ask for the certificate holder, covered site or articles, certificate number, issuer and validity dates. Check certificate details through the issuer’s verification service where available; social-audit report access may follow a different process. Certified fabric alone does not establish certification of every finished garment.
What happens if an order fails inspection or defects are found after delivery?
A lot that fails the agreed pre-shipment criteria is held for corrective action and reinspection before release. Agree responsibility for rework, replacement, reinspection costs and schedule changes in the order terms. For issues found after delivery, contact the team with the order number, affected quantities and supporting evidence; the agreed claim procedure and remedy apply. See the quality-control process.
Can I appoint an independent inspector?
Request third-party inspection when obtaining your quotation so access, scope, timing and fees can be agreed before booking. Provide the inspector with the approved sample, tech pack and acceptance criteria. Agree when the report will be available and whether your written approval is required before shipment. See the quality-control process.

Confidentiality & Visiting

Will my design stay confidential?
NDAs are available on request. Ask to agree the NDA before sending confidential artwork or development files. Our stated process uses client-segregated folders and requires written approval before reusing client artwork. Confirm permitted access and use in your agreement; contact the team to request an NDA.
Who owns developed patterns, artwork and design files?
Record ownership, permitted use, exclusivity and delivery of development files in the written agreement before work begins. These terms can differ between buyer-supplied designs and factory-assisted development. Do not assume that paying a sample fee transfers every development file or right. Review OEM and ODM options with the team.
Can I visit or audit the factory before ordering?
Yes. On-site visits to Humen, Dongguan and live video factory tours can be arranged before ordering. Book an appointment and confirm the address, available weekday time slot and areas or documents you want to review. Times are scheduled in China Standard Time (GMT+8); travel time depends on your starting point and traffic.
