Acid Wash Hoodies

Custom Acid Wash Hoodies, OEM/ODM

FORGEMFG manufactures custom acid wash hoodies for streetwear brands in Dongguan, China. Choose 400 GSM fleece or 280 GSM French terry, with three internal wash grades approved on physical swatches. The MOQ is 50 pieces per style, colorway, and wash grade.

Acid wash creates irregular light-and-dark marbling. The finished effect depends on fabric composition, dye, base color, and the wash recipe. Explore our acid wash process for technical details, or request a quote for your hoodie specification.

Wash grades, G1 to G3

Approved on real swatches

Grade G1 — Light

Subtle, close-toned marbling for a restrained textured finish. Suitable when the wash should complement a logo or embroidered detail.

Grade G2 — Classic

Clearly visible, uneven light-and-dark marbling. Suitable for a distinctive acid wash finish with balanced contrast.

Grade G3 — Deep

More pronounced, concentrated marbling for a bold finish. Any additional surface distressing must be specified and approved separately.

G1–G3 are FORGEMFG's internal reference grades, not universal industry standards. Confirm the target contrast on a physical swatch and finished sample; screen settings and lighting can change how a wash appears. Individual marbling patterns will vary.

Which wash grade fits your design?

Subtle to bold contrast

Choose G1 for subtle texture, G2 for clearly defined marbling, or G3 for stronger contrast. Review the wash alongside your artwork, fit, and base color so the finish supports the complete garment design.

A reference photograph is a starting point, not a guarantee of an identical pattern. Use a physical swatch to agree the contrast range, then approve the finished hoodie sample before bulk production.

Fabric weight & base color

Confirm the finished specification

Standard options are 400 GSM fleece and lighter 280 GSM French terry. Fabric weight alone does not determine shrinkage, strength, or wash contrast. Confirm fiber composition, knit construction, and whether quoted GSM is measured before or after washing in your approved specification.

Washed black, indigo, and olive are starting points for sampling. Dark bases can make lighter marbling more visible; light or pastel bases may produce a softer effect. Final color, contrast, finished measurements, and shrinkage acceptance limits should be approved on the selected fabric.

Construction & customization

Define your tech pack

Specify pullover or full-zip construction, pocket design, ribbed or raw hems, drawcords, and trim finishes. Include your fit reference, size range, finished measurement chart, and grading requirements. Custom hardware, labels, and packaging may have separate supplier minimums; confirm these in the quote.

Screen printing, puff printing, and embroidery can be assessed for application after washing and drying. Compatibility depends on the finished surface, artwork, and decoration method. Approve placement and durability on a decorated sample, with labels and packaging specified separately.

Wash consistency & quality control

Agree acceptance criteria

Acid wash produces irregular patterns, so garments should be evaluated against an approved contrast range rather than identical marbling placement. Agree reference swatches, lighting conditions, finished measurement tolerances, and unacceptable discoloration or fabric damage before production.

FORGEMFG lists AQL 2.5/4.0 for pre-shipment inspection. Request the applicable sampling standard, inspection level, defect classifications, and acceptance rules in your order documents. Colorfastness and shrinkage tests need separately agreed methods and thresholds. Ask for relevant inspection reports and current certification or audit documents, including their holder, facility, scope, and validity, through our quote team.

MOQ, pricing & lead times

The MOQ is 50 pieces per style, colorway, and wash grade. One style in one colorway across G1, G2, and G3 requires at least 150 pieces; the same combination in two colorways requires 300. Confirm size splits and any custom component minimums before ordering. Price depends on fabric, wash recipe, quantity, construction, decoration, trims, and packaging.

Typical sampling is 7–15 business days, subject to confirmed specifications and material availability. Request the sample charge, revision terms, production lead time, payment terms, shipping basis, and timeline starting point in your quote. For reorders, reconfirm fabric, dye lot, wash recipe, and retained sample; changes may require renewed approval.

Frequently asked questions

Are G1–G3 standard acid wash grades?
No. G1–G3 are FORGEMFG's internal reference grades: light, classic, and deep contrast. Approve your target on physical swatches and a finished garment sample.
What fabrics are available for acid wash hoodies?
Standard options are 400 GSM fleece and 280 GSM French terry. Confirm the exact fiber composition, construction, and pre- or post-wash GSM basis in your quote.
How is acid wash different from snow wash?
Our acid wash program emphasizes irregular light-and-dark marbling. Our snow wash program offers a softer, frosted effect. Results depend on fabric, dye, and recipe; compare approved physical samples.
What is the MOQ, and can I mix sizes?
The MOQ is 50 pieces per style, colorway, and wash grade. One style and colorway in all three grades requires 150 pieces. Submit your size breakdown so the team can confirm size splits and any component minimums.
Can you match a reference photo exactly?
A reference photo guides sampling, but individual marbling placement cannot be identical across garments. Agree the acceptable color and contrast range on physical swatches and a finished sample.
How is the acid wash effect created?
A controlled garment-finishing recipe selectively lightens the dyed surface to create marbling. The method depends on the fabric and target finish. See our acid wash process for technical details.
How long does sampling take, and what does it cost?
Typical sampling takes 7–15 business days, subject to specifications and material availability. Request a written sample quote confirming charges, revisions, the timeline starting point, and courier transit time.
Can I add printing, embroidery, and private labels?
Screen printing, puff printing, embroidery, and custom branding can be assessed for your design. Final compatibility, placement, component minimums, and durability are confirmed through quotation and sample approval.
What is the bulk-production lead time?
Bulk lead time is confirmed in your quote based on quantity, materials, wash specification, and decoration. Ask for separate production and shipping estimates for your destination and required delivery date.
What should I send for an accurate quote?
Send a tech pack or fit reference, wash reference, fabric preference, quantity by color and size, decoration artwork, label and packaging requirements, destination, and delivery deadline.
